Mike & Andy's Premium Coffee

What is Specialty Coffee?

Not all coffee is created equal. Specialty coffee refers to the top tier — beans that score 80+ in cup score, grown in ideal conditions, and roasted for flavor clarity. At Mike & Andy’s, we hand-select only the finest lots, roast in small batches, and ensure every bag delivers a cup worth savoring.

What Makes Coffee “Specialty”?

Specialty coffee is more than a label—it’s an experience.

Beans are scored 80 points or higher by certified graders based on aroma, flavor, balance, and clarity.

Only the top 1–3% of coffee globally earns the title.

Every step—from altitude to processing to cupping—matters for the final taste.

Mike & Andy's coffee selection only includes scores of 83.75 and above.
(For reference, typical commercial coffee receives a score of 60).

Roasting, Freshness, and Storage

We roast weekly in small batches to maintain peak aroma.

Coffee is freshest 7–14 days after roasting, and stays great for ~30 days sealed.

For best results, store in a cool, dark place, in its original bag.

Prefer whole bean? Grind just before brewing.

Choose ground only if brewing right away.

FAQ's

Q: Should I choose an 8 oz., 12 oz., or 1 lb. bag?
A: 8 oz. is a sampler size—great for trying multiple origins. 12 oz. is perfect for gifting or a larger sample. 1 lb. is standard for regular drinkers.

Q: Should I pick whole bean or ground?
A: Whole bean preserves freshness longer. Ground is convenient but best brewed within days.

Q: When is my coffee roasted?
A: We roast every week to ensure the coffee is fresh when it arrives to your door.
